InMath (CS4) and GREP Styles Within a Paragraph Style
January 15, 2010
You might know that you can automatically style characters within a paragraph by configuring a "GREP Style" within the paragraph style options. This works since InDesign/InCopy CS4.
Unfortunately InMath can't support this feature at the moment. For example: if you superscript by GREP style the digits "2" and "3" that follow an "x" or "y" and try to build a fraction out of "x2/y2", then the fraction will be misaligned.
Workaround: In addition to the GREP style, assign a character style to the regarding characters (in our example, the "2" and the "3") which only superscripts these characters.
The InMath developers are investigating this issue, and we will keep you informed about each new development.
