Risk of working on InMath documents without InMath installed - New issue: Autorecovery
August 11, 2008
A new issue has been reported by the InMath developers regarding the autorecovery function in InDesign. If any InDesign document will be recovered, for example after an InDesign crash or a system crash, and if during this recovery InMath is not present and loaded, then every InMath-related information will be irretrievably stripped out of this document. It can even be the case that InDesign frequently crashes when working on such an InDesign document. In these cases, you need to export this document as INX and re-open this INX.
For this and for all other already communicated reasons, we strongly recommend again that you make sure that each workstation on which InMath documents are opened has InMath installed and loaded. We cannot take any responsability for any loss of InMath information or corrupted documents caused by works on a document without InMath installed.
For InCopy workstations, it is imperative that InMath is installed and loaded if InMath documents are opened on them. The reason is the InCopy particularity to wipe out any third-party attributes that InCopy doesn't understand.
