At A Glance: Benefits Using InDihyph PRO
Highest accuracy. InDihyph PRO serves the highest quality requirements which you have to hyphenation in your documents. This has been proven by many comparative tests.
Different hyphenation qualities. An absolute highlight of InDihyph PRO are the five different hyphenation qualities. InDihyph does not only report “hyphenation point” to the InCopy/InDesign composer, but also a classification in five levels, from "excellent" to "acceptable". This leads to the result that bad hyphenations can be avoided as far as possible. A good example is “misin-formed” which will be reported with the worst hyphenation quality and therefore only used if needs be, for example within very narrow columns.
Combined and compound words. InDihyph PRO has special algorithms incorporated, dealing with combined and compound words, as well as for new, fashion words.
Full InCopy support. InDihyph PRO supports InCopy which makes it possible to use InDihyph PRO’s quality within editorial systems as well.
40 languages. InDihyph PRO is available in about 40 languages at the moment. It covers all prevalent central-european languages like English, German, French and Spanish, as well as some slavic languages like Polish or Slovak and even some exotic ones like Afrikaans or Bahasa. You can find a full overview of all currently available languages on the reverse side of this paper. Moreover, InDihyph PRO is available for languages that InDesign doesn't support at all, namely for example Icelandic and Serbian (Latin and Cyrillic).
30 years of experience. The German engineer Frank Dieckmann has been developing and refining his methods to find correct hyphenation points in words for about 30 years now. Thanks to his close cooperation with publishing houses all over the world and constant improvement and development, his methods now have an outstanding quality and meet the highest quality requirements.
How it works. InDihyph PRO works basically with a combination of algorithms and a number of exception tables. The algorithms base on the grammatical rules of the respective language. Where the algorithms are not sufficient any more – for example with combined or compound words, special terms, or new fashion words – the exception tables join in in order to accomplish correct hyphenation. Of course InDihyph PRO is also aware of different word endings, pre- and suffices and hyphenates accordingly.
User exceptions. Of course it’s still possible to define exceptions of the InDihyph PRO hyphenation. If a word shall be hyphenated in a particular manner within your company or a hyphenation qualitiy doesn’t match your needs, you can define your exceptions within a user dictionary.

i.t.i.p. Tip – InDesign
Tables and Table Styles in InDesign
Setting up tables has never been easier than in InDesign. Now, with CS3, you can assign "styles" for a whole table and "styles" for a single cell. Keep in mind that those styles can include all settings of "Table > Table options" or rather "Table > Cell options", except the geometry! This means that you cannot adjust a cell's height or width within a cell style. You might find advantages and disavantages for this, but after all, it makes more sense this way. The good news: if you have been working with "Table Styles" from Teacup Software within CS or CS2, your styles will normally be preserved when moving your document from CS or CS2 to CS3.
